J. de Telmont ‘Grande Reserve' Champagne Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from France – Champagne

17.5-/20

Moderately persistent bubbles, bright straw-yellow colour with hints of gold, lighter on edge. The bouquet is firm and concentrated with aromas of ripe stonefruits and apples, packed with interwoven notes of bready autolysis and nutty aldehyde elements. Dry to taste, medium-bodied with restrained mousse, this has a soft, mouthfilling palate with flavours of apples, yellow stonefruits, bread yeast and nuts well-integrated, forming a deep core. The acidity is soft, but there is good drive to a dry, compact finish with nutty elements. This is a soft, flavoursome Champagne with integrated layers of flavour with some nutty development. Serve as an aperitif or with antipasto and white meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. A blend, one-third each of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and includes 20% reserve wine. 17.5-/20 Aug 2012 RRP $49.95
