La Marca Prosecco NV

13 November,2017

‘La Marca’ is one of the most highly recognised and successful brands of Prosecco. The name La Marca is named after the La Marca Trevigiana zone located in the heart of the Prosecco region. La Marca is a co-operative that was founded in 1968 by a group of growers who wanted greater strength in making and marketing their grapes in a wine of very high quality standards. The popularity of the wine and its style and quality has seen the co-operative grow to having 9 wineries in the region of Treviso with 5,000 winegrower members with over 10,000 ha of vines. The wine is somewhat drier than most others, which contributes to its distinctive style. The wine is distributed in New Zealand by Dhall and Nash. www.lamarcaprosecco.com  www.dnfinewine.com

La Marca Prosecco DOC NV

Sparkling Wine from Italy – Veneto

17.5/20

Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour, the bubble moderately fine and persistent. The nose is fresh and elegant with aromas of apples and white stonefruits. unfolding a little nuttiness and slight saline nuances. This is clean and fine in fruit expression. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate has positive flavours of apples and stonefruits with a subtle nutty and saline amalgam. The fruit forms an elegantly concentrated core. The effervescence is froth and creamy, softening the palate. Crisp acidity enlivens the mouthfeel, balancing the mousse, and the wine carries along to a fine, lingering finish of apples and nuts. This is a delightfully fresh and elegant Prosecco with apple and nutty flavours on a frothy and lively palate. Serve as an aperitif, or anytime, really, over the next 2 years. 100% Glera, fermented to 11.0% alc. and 1.7 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees prior to secondary fermentation by the Charmat method. Lot L12703171127C. 17.5/20 Nov 2017 RRP $27.95
