18.5/20Very
pale salmon-pink colour, very light on the rim.
The nose is very elegant and delicate with fragrant aromas of strawberries
and cream, quince and subtle notes of red florals and suggestions of
fruit-pastille confectionary. The
aromatics form a rounded core with richness, but retain finesse and beauty. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate
has a fine, concentrated heart of strawberries and cream, quince and soft red
floral notes. The fruit possesses
richness, a soft texture and smooth flow.
The palate has fresh acidity, and the flavours flow with good energy to
a dry, thirst-quenching finish. This is
a finely concentrated dry rosé with a subtle richness showing strawberries and
cream, with quince notes on a smooth, refreshing and mouthwatering finish. Serve as an aperitif, with canapes, dim sum
and antipasto over the next 2 years. 100%
Pinot Noir from the Wairau Valley and a single site in the Awatere Valley,
cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS, the wine aged
10 weeks on lees. 18.5/20 Oct 2017
