Cross Hares ‘Ahuriri Run’ Canterbury Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand – Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date - 12-Feb-2018

17.5+/20

Bright, even straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh with vibrant white and yellow stonefruit aromas along with subtle savoury yellow floral fragrances and honeysuckle notes, unfolding nuances of chalky minerals. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has lively and up-front fruit flavours of yellow stonefruits with honied and yellow floral elements. The fruit possesses richness and is enlivened by bright, lacy acidity, and the wine flows with good vigour and energy along a fine-textured line, leading to a lingering, zesty finish of stonefruits and florals. This is a bright and vigorous off-dry Pinot Gris with rich stonefruit, floral and honied flavours. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 3+ years. Fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and approx. 6.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 17.5+/20 Feb 2018 RRP $20.00
