Mount Edward Central Otago Riesling 2009

Riesling from New Zealand – Otago
Review Date - 21-Dec-2011

17.5-/20

Very pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is elegant, showing florals, lime fruit, minerals, with a nutty, ‘sweet and sour' complexing nuance. Medium dry to taste, this is light-bodied and has a beautiful delicacy. Gentle flavours of apples, lime, honey and sherbet are supported by very fine acidity, resulting in a palate of finesse and style. Subtle and ethereal flavours of florals and minerals linger on the finish. This is a very fine-featured Riesling to serve as aperitif and with delicate seafood dishes over the net 4-5 years. Fruit from the ‘L'Attitude' vineyard in Lowburn, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 13 g/L rs. 375 cases made. RP $24.50
