The Hot Red Hawke’s Bay wine exhibition is one of the most
important events on the New Zealand wine lovers’ calendar. The Hawke’s Bay region produces arguably this
country’s finest Chardonnays, Viogniers, red Bordeaux varietal wines and Syrahs,
and Hot Red Hawke’s Bay offers the opportunity of tasting a broad range of
these wines and many more. This is the
12th year of this event and it will be especially popular as it will
feature the initial 2014 releases and the more serious 2013 vintage wines,
these being outstanding growing seasons.
For the first time, Hot Red Hawke’s Bay will offer 30 minute
Masterclass sessions looking at key aspects of the Hawke's Bay wine scene in depth. Leading the masterclasses will be Hugh Crichton of Vidal Estate and Tony Bish of Sacred Hill in Wellington, and Tim Turvey of Clearview Estate and John Hancock of Trinity Hill in Auckland.
There are 31 producers involved, who will be showing over
220 wines. The exhibitors are: Alpha Domus, Ant Mackenzie Wines, Ash
Ridge Wines, Babich Wines, Beach House Wines (Wellington only), Church Road
Winery, Clearview Estate Winery, Craggy Range, Crossroads Wines, Cypress Wines,
Easthope Winegrowers, Elephant Hill, Esk Valley, Lime Rock Wines, Mills Reef, Mission
Estate Winery, Ngatarawa Wines, Osawa Wines (Auckland only), Pask Winery, Rod
McDonald Wines, Sacred Hill, Sileni Estates, Squawking Magpie, Stonecroft
