Hot Red Hawke's Bay Wine Expo 2012

This is the ninth year that this superb event has been held, and is a must on every wine lover's calendar. Following last year's inclusion of white wines to what was a red wine-only event, ‘Hot Red Hawke's Bay' will continue to offer the full experience of the Hawke's Bay wine production On offer for tasting will be some of this country's top Chardonnays, the white variety the region has become renowned for. But also top examples of Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Viognier can be tasted. These complement Hawke's Bay's great strength in reds, which include the outstanding Bordeaux varietal wines, Syrah, and emerging Pinot Noir and Italian and Spanish varietals.

There will be over 100 wines to taste from over 20 exhibitors. These are the wineries showing their wares: Alluviale*, Alpha Domus, Babich, Black Barn, Bridge Pa**, Church Road, CJ Pask, Clearview, Coopers Creek, Craggy Range, Crossroads, Cypress, Elephant Hill, Esk Valley, Lime Rock, Mai Mai Creek**, Mills Reef, Mission, Ngatarawa, Sileni, Te Mata***, Trinity Hill, Vidal and Villa Maria.  Attendees will be able to taste and talk with winemakers and winery personnel responsible for the wines.  (*Wellington only, **Auckland only, ***Hawke's Bay only) 

Bona fide hospitality trade and media have the opportunity of having an exclusive preview from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm at each session on a complimentary basis. To attend in this capacity, registration with the organiser Lyn Bevin is required (details follow).
