Wine Focused Events of Note

Pinot Noir 2013
Monday 28 – Thursday 31 January 2013
Various Venues, Wellington Waterfront, Wellington, New Zealand

First run in 2001 and held every three years, the fifth Pinot Noir conference to be held 28 – 31 January 2013 will build on all the positives of the previous events. The event will focus on regionality. Pinot Noir 2013 will offer delegates the opportunity of delving in greater depth than before exploring each of the Pinot Noir growing regions of New Zealand. Each day, attendees will join a different region: Wairarapa/Martinborough, Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury/Waipara, and Central Otago. At each session they will be able to talk to winemakers, ask questions and taste the wines of that region in an informal and more intimate setting.

As with the earlier Pinot Noir events, presentations and discussions will feature. Keynote speakers include Jasper Morris MW of the U.K., Matt Kramer from the United States, French viticulturist Emmanuel Bourguignon and Mike Bennie from Australia. And a number of grand tastings will provide delegates some great Pinot Noir wines to try, think about and discuss. An outstanding culinary programme from Ruth Pretty completes the picture.

As Alastair Maling MW, Chairman of Pinot Noir 2013 says, "This will be an essential event for all great Pinot Noir thinkers.”
