The International Sauvignon Blanc Celebration 2016
Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 February 2016
Marlborough, New Zealand
Cost: $2,070.00 pp
The International Sauvignon Blanc Celebration will be held
in Marlborough from Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 February 2016. It follows a similar format to the successful
Pinot Noir conferences that have been held on a three-yearly basis in
Wellington since 2001. This is the first
time such a celebration focussed on Sauvignon Blanc has been organised. Sauvignon 2016 is designed to show the world’s
producers, experts and key influencers what is being achieved with this country’s
most important variety.
The ISBC committee of Patrick Materman, Blair Gibbs, Chris
Yorke, Ivan Sutherland, Brian Bicknell, Ruud Maasdam, Roscoe Johanson, Kat
Wiggins, Mike Brown, Damien Yvon and Marcus Pickens have devised a programme of
activities that will give a comprehensive insight into New Zealand Sauvignon
and what if offers to the global market.
The Sauvignon 2016 programme will give attendees the
opportunity of hearing from expert guest speakers about growing and making the
wine, regionality, styles and diversity.
It will also feature tastings with Sauvignon Blanc around the world,
classical New Zealand examples and alternative styles. There will be the opportunity of tasting over
200 wines. Flavour and food
compatibility can be explored in conjunction with the incorporated culinary
programme which culminates in a gala dinner.
Sauvignon 2016 will be held in Blenheim, but attendees will
be transported around the region and participate in a number of events at
wineries in the region.
