Aitken’s Folly Central Otago 2014 Rosé and 2013 Chardonnay

02-Dec-2014
Former U.K. oil industry people, Fiona Aitken and husband Ian Percy settled in Riverbabk Road, near Wanaka, Central Otago for a lifestyle that suited raising their family. Making an entrance into wine, they planted 3 ha of vines in 2008 with the advice of James Dicey, and had their firs wines from the 2012 vintage made at the nearby Maude winery. The wines made to date are a Chardonnay, from 0.75 ha of the Corton-Charlemagne clone 548, and 2.25 ha of Pinot Noir from Abel, 667 and 5. Less than a 1,000 cases is made annually. I reviewed these first releases in March this year (click here to see). Now I review a 2014 Rosé and the 2013 Chardonnay. www.aitkensfolly.com
