Anchorage and Torrent Bay 2013 Releases

13-Jan-2014
The Drummond family’s wine operation continues to grow and has now released a bevy of new 2013 vintage wines onto the domestic and overseas markets. Fruit is sourced from the company’s own 40 ha in the Motueka district with a supply from contract growers in the Moutere region, and is bottled under the ‘Anchorage’ brand, as well as supporting ‘Awaroa’, ‘Torrent Bay’ and ‘Southern Lighthouse’ labels. New winemaker Stefan Heinrich, who hails from Heilbronn in Germany took over the reins from Justin Papesch in time for the 2013 vintage. Here are my reviews of a selection of 2013 ‘Torrent Bay’ and ‘Anchorage’ wines. The aromatic wines in particular are a real success with excellent fruit expression and clarity. www.anchoragewines.co.nz
