Ara 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Rosé

11-Nov-2014
The inexorable progress of Ara Wines in the upper Waihopai Valley, Marlborough is apparent in the new 2014 vintage releases. A favourable growing season and new vineyard management regimes contributed to a very early harvest for the company with excellent quality. Vineyard general manager Gus Struthers and winemaker Jeff Clarke see Pinot Noir as performing exceptionally. The vintage has given a greater yield of Pinot Gris, and they see the Sauvignon Blanc as "classical” in the best sense. Here, I review the first 2014 releases, the ‘Single Estate’ Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and inaugural Pinot Noir Rosé. www.arawines.co.nz
