Aronui and Tohu 2014 Aromatics and 2012 Aronui Pinot Noir

04-Nov-2014
The ‘Aronui’ Nelson wine range is quickly growing to complement the ‘Tohu’ Marlborough wines that have been well-established under the Kono Beverages umbrella. From the 2014 vintage, the Riesling, Gruner Veltliner and Albarino varieties join the Aronui brand, these varieties already seeming naturally suited to the Nelson region, the latter two relatively new and indeed regarded as innovative. Here, I review these wines along with the 2014 Tohu Pinot Gris, and 2012 Aronui Pinot Noir. All are made under the watchful eye of Kono’s winemaker Bruce Taylor at the company’s winery in the Awatere Valley. www.aronuiwines.co.nz  www.tohuwines.co.nz
