Auntsfield – Retaining and Making History

24-Mar-2011
When Graeme and Linda Cowley purchased their Auntsfield property, they were unaware they had also purchased a slice of Marlborough's winegrowing history, as it was the site of David Herd's vineyard and cellar, established in 1873, as the region's first. The Cowley family have taken steps to preserve and commemorate the past, but their modern efforts with wine are on track to be significant in the scheme of things. Sons Ben and Luc are responsible for the wines from the clay soiled hills of the southern Wairau Valley, and the future has never looked brighter for the site and wines from it in over 135 years! www.auntsfield.co.nz
