Borthwick Vineyard’s Summer Releases

04-Dec-2013
One of the most experienced winemakers in the Wairarapa, Paddy Borthwick quietly makes a very strong range of wines from the 27 ha Borthwick Estate on Dakins Road in Gladstone. The vineyard was planted in 1996 with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling, adding Pinot Gris in 2006. Paddy has rising star Braden Crosby as his right hand man and Lisa Hodson tending the vineyard. 90% of the production is exported, but the wines have a loyal following domestically. Here, I review the new Borthwick Vineyard releases for summer. www.borthwick.co.nz
