Caythorpe Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

30-Sep-2015
Caythorpe Family Estate is the Marlborough winegrowing venture of the Bishell family who have a history of sheep farming and cropping on Middle Renwick Road, ancestor David Bishell arriving in New Zealand in 1876 from Caythorpe, Lincolnshire. The family with fifth generation Simon Bishell, have been long time contract grape growers, first planting Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir in 1987. They now have 110 ha of vines, with Riesling and Chardonnay also planted. The Bishells have now embarked on their own label with this 2015 Sauvignon Blanc and intend to add Chardonnay and Pinot Noir over the next two years. They have contracted as their winemaker the very experienced Jeremy McKenzie using the Isabel facility. www.caythorpe.nz
