Chateau de Pez St Estephe 2012

23-Feb-2015
One of the highly respected Cru Bourgeois of Bordeaux, Chateau de Pez was acquired by Champagne Louis Roederer in 1995 and has benefited from continuous investment and renovation since. The property is 39 ha, of which 26 ha are planted to 48% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, the vines on average 25 y.o. Approx. 10,000 cases are made annually. 2012 was a challenging vintage where generally Merlot was more successful, the Cabernet Sauvignon struggling to achieve ripeness. The yields were small, and the resultant red wines better than those of 2011. www.chateaudepez.com The wine is distributed in New Zealand by EuroVintage. www.eurovintage.co.nz
