Clark Estate 2012 Awatere Aromatic Wines

12-Mar-2013
Peter and Jane Clark have 8 ha of Sauvignon Blanc, 2.4 ha of Pinot Gris and 0.8 ha of Riesling in the upper Awatere Valley in Marlborough, making wine that has a strong following in their original home country in the U.K. Recent show successes have highlighted the viticultural and winemaking work of son Simon who has trained in the Mosel region of Germany, and the marketing work of daughter Sarah, who has seen the wines garner the attention they deserve in New Zealand. The wines, made at Marlborough Vintners, show the family’s passion in growing and making the aromatic varieties in the Awatere Valley. Here are my reviews of three new 2012 vintage releases. www.clarkestate.com
