Codorniu, Bodegas Fontana, Falua and Mitolo Releases from Mineral

12-Oct-2015
Distribution specialists Mineral Wine has increased its range of imported wines to supplement the New Zealand portfolio with modern and eclectic Spanish and Portuguese wines from the giant ‘Codorniu’ Cava producer in the Penedes, ‘Bodegas Fontana’ in the Ucles D.O. region of Castile-La Mancha, and from ‘Falua’, the personal project of winemaker and consultant Joao Portugal Ramos sourcing wines from the Alentejo, Tejo, Beiras, Duoro and Vinho Verde regions of Portugal. The two latter producers have the input of international consultant Sam Harrop MW.

Mineral also represent ‘Mitolo’ the Australian wine brand of Frank Mitolo, of Italian descent. Frank first started making wine in 1995, and teamed up with well-respected winemaker Ben Glaetzer, sourcing fruit from Don Lopresti’s vineyards in the McLaren Vale. Here, I review new releases under the four brands. www.mineralwine.co.nz
