Craggy Range ‘Gimblett Gravels’ Chardonnay 2010

23-Nov-2011
The ‘Gimblett Gravels' vineyard has proven to be a fine source for top flight Chardonnay. The general perception is that the Gimblett Gravels is more suited to the production of Bordeaux-varietal reds and Syrah, and less so for Chardonnay which may prefer a slightly cooler area, but the diversity of soil types, even within the Gimblett Gravels means there are suitable sections. Chardonnay is planted on the heavier, less stony soils, and produces this consistent wine. www.craggyrange.com
