Eradus 2013 ‘Ana’ Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris

13-Aug-2013
The quality of fruit from the ‘Breloft’ vineyard of Michiel and Hanna Eradus continues to shine. The 12 ha vineyard in the Awatere Valley has a distinguished track record, the Sauvignon Blanc wines being awarded an incredible 28 gold medals or equivalents since 2006. The Pinot Gris is also highly regarded, the 2012 vintage taking gold and the Champion Pinot Gris Trophy at last year’s Air New Zealand Wine Awards. The Eradus team with Jeremy Hyland overseeing the viticulture and Jules Taylor the winemaking for Michiel and Hanna must be very pleased with their efforts. Here I review two new 2013 vintage wines: the ‘Ana’ Sauvignon Blanc, a label created for the on-premise market which is already successful overseas, and the new release Pinot Gris. www.eraduswines.co.nz
