Fine Wine Delivery Co. – Private Label Wine

08-May-2013
One of the strategies for success in the competitive retail market is exclusivity, and when it comes to wine in New Zealand, the Fine Wine Delivery Co. are among the best players, with ranges of wines that explore the concept of exclusivity thoroughly. One approach is having wine made, or purchasing lots to be sold under branding that has been created and designed in-house, such as the ‘Incognito’ releases. The other approach is to benefit from an already existing and highly respected brand. To ensure uncontested selling, the company must buy specific lots in their entirety. These wines in essence also become ‘private labels’. This method applies to these two releases, a Spade Oak ‘Voysey’ Gewurztraminer 2012, made by Gisborne winemaking doyen Steve Voysey, and a Yalumba Barossa Shiraz 2010, from arguably Australia’s most respected family-owned winemaking business.
