Framingham Estate, F-Series and Ribbonwood 2014 Sauvignon Blancs

16-Oct-2014
Although Framingham Wines has forged a reputation as one of the best aromatic wine producers in Marlborough and New Zealand, it is easy to forget that Sauvignon Blanc is the company’s mainstay, and winemakers Andrew Hedley and Andrew Brown put a great deal of effort into getting the prime variety right. The subtle innovations they continually work at are taking the wines to their own and unique places. The Framingham ‘premium’ label remains the classical Marlborough regional expression. The ‘F-Series’ wines are more ‘way out’ and incorporate adventurous viticulture and winemaking. Some of the techniques trialled in this range are making their way into the ‘premium’ wines. The ‘Ribbonwood’ wines are the pure and varietal bottlings. Here, I review the new release Sauvignon Blancs across the three ranges. www.ribbonwoodwines.co.nz www.framingham.co.nz
