Gladstone Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Releases

27-Jun-2014
As the premier wine producer outside of Martinborough in the greater Wairarapa district, Gladstone Vineyard has a track record for quality and consistency that brings much attention to the region. Proprietor and winemaker Christine Kernohan is a keen supporter of all of the focussed operators in the area, willing them to succeed, and leads by example with her very own strong portfolio of wines. While Pinot Noir has become the flag-flyer for Gladstone Vineyard, the white wines are also noteworthy, of which Sauvignon Blanc has shown considerable advances, across each of the different labels. Here, I review the current releases of the accessible ’12,000 Miles’, premium ‘estate’ bottling, and the limited release and complex oak-influenced ‘Sophie’s Choice’ wines. The ’12,000 Miles’ wine is the second bottling. www.gladstonevineyard.co.nz
