Greywacke Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

30-May-2014
An integral part of the Marlborough wine fabric, the Greywacke label of Kevin and Kimberley Judd seems to have been around forever. It is somewhat surprising to realise that the 2013 vintage of the Sauvignon Blanc is only the fifth release. I suppose it’s that Kevin has been there at the start of the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc boom with Cloudy Bay’s beginnings. Life for Kevin and Kimberley is at a fast pace now, as the Greywacke label grows in leaps and bounds. Kevin says "time flies and we’re having fun”. His great experience and familiarity of the Sauvignon Blanc variety has led him to craft wines that are rich but not overly fruity, possess the textures and layers of complexity that become increasingly apparent with drinking, and have the structure to work really well with a diverse range of foods. Here, I review the fifth and latest Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc. www.greywacke.com
