Haha 2014 Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot

04-Feb-2015
I see the Haha wine brand as one of the marketing success stories of New Zealand. From small beginnings with the inaugural 2011 Sauvignon Blanc and 2010 Pinot Noir from Marlborough fruit, Haha now has a strong export presence and the range has been extended to include Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and a ‘Reserve’ Pinot Noir. Managing director Ash Ireland has had plenty of grounding, and this combined with the technical input of John Belsham has provided the strong base of excellent quality wine that offers accessibility, and appropriate strategies for growth. Here, I review the new release 2014 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and introduce the 2014 Merlot, from Hawke’s Bay fruit. www.hahawine.co.nz
