Hawksdrift 2014 Sauvignon, 2013 Barrel Fermented and 2012 Pinot Noir Releases

21-Oct-2014
Murray and Robyn Butt are pioneering Dillons Point, Marlborough grapegrowers who established their 9 ha vineyard in 1998. Happy for many years as contract growers for several high profile producers, the Butts decided to make small quantities of high quality and distinctive wine they could call their own from selected, hand-picked parcels of their fruit. Working with up-and-coming and wide-travelling winemaker Dave Tyney, they released their first ‘Hawksdrift’ wines from the 2011 vintage. I reviewed these wines and the 2012 whites in August last year (click here to see my reviews). The Butts have added a fruit-expressive Sauvignon Blanc to the range from the 2014 vintage. I review this wine, with the 2013 Barrel Fermented whites and 2012 Pinot Noir wines about to be released to the market in the near future. www.hawksdriftwines.co.nz
