Henry’s Drive 2013 and 2012 Padthaway Shiraz Reds

20-Mar-2015

One of the very successful Australian wine brands brought into New Zealand by Procure Liquor, Henry’s Drive consistently delivers red wines of ripeness, richness and warmth. The Henry’s Drive label is named after the proprietor of the 19th century mail coach service that ran through the Padthaway property belonging to Kim Longbottom, who with her late husband Mark established their vineyards in 1992. The company now has over 100 ha in that district and over 12 ha in the McLaren Vale. Winemaking is under the care of Kim Jackson who has experience in Australia, California and Burgundy. Here I review three Shiraz-based reds from the 2013 and 2012 vintages. www.henrysdrive.com  www.procureliquor.co.nz
