Howard Park – Classy Western Australian White and Reds

04-Apr-2014
Howard Park was established by the Burch family in 1986 in Denmark and was one of the pioneers in the Great Southern district of Western Australia. The company is now established in the Margaret River as well as the Great Southern area, producing wine from their own vineyards and from fruit sourced from growers. The Burch family and Howard Park are members of ‘Australia’s First Families of Wine’. The varieties produced under the eye of winemaker Janice McDonald since 2011 and viticulturist David Botting since 2004 are Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in different tiers. There is the icon ‘Howard Park’ range, the ‘Single Vineyard Series’, which has the ‘Leston’ Margaret River and ‘Scotsdale’ Great Southern wines, plus the ‘Regional Range’ which has the ‘Flint Rock’ wines from Great Southern and ‘Miamup’ from Margaret River. The ‘Madfish’ brand is the value range, and there is a collaboration project with Pascal Marchand in making burgundy wine. These are extremely high quality, classically styled wines. www.burchfamilywines.com.au The wines are distributed in New Zealand by EuroVintage. www.eurovintage.co.nz
