Invivo ‘Michelle’s’ Central Otago Chardonnay 2013 and Pinot Noir 2012

05-Nov-2014
Invivo Wines is best known for its range of Marlborough wines, but the Central Otago bottlings are important in Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron’s desire for their label to represent New Zealand. They source fruit from growers in the Gibbston Valley and the Cromwell Basin. The ‘Michelle’s’ brand is the premium tier, and according to winemaker Rob Cameron the new releases are arguably the best they have made to date. The naming of the wines is an acknowledgement of Rob’s wife, Michelle, and her understanding of the time demands of a winemaker, especially during vintage. Here, I review the 2013 Chardonnay and 2012 Pinot Noir ‘Michelle’s’ wines. www.invivowines.com
