Lynfer Estate 2013 Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé

23-Oct-2013

I’ve been following David and Coleen Boyd’s ‘Lynfer Estate’ wines over the last couple of years and have enjoyed their progress. Their 11 ha vineyard on Dakins Road near Gladstone is in the heart of a quality grape growing district and their fruit has gone towards the production of a number of premium wines since their first crop in 2003. Their own wines, from 2009, made with sensitivity by Christine Kernohan and her team at Gladstone Vineyard, have shown an attractive delicacy and purity. Each year, the Boyds have grown their business, making Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, to now including a rosé and a Pinot Gris in the range. The quality appears to be growing too, subtly as the vines mature. Here, I review the new Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé. www.lynferestate.co.nz
