Lynfer Estate Gladstone Pinots Have Floral Quality

18-Oct-2011
With 11 hectares of vines on Dakins Road, Gladstone, David and Coleen Boyd have been supplying quality fruit for Wairarapa wines since 2003. Recently they have developed their own label, named ‘Lynfer', a combination of their daughters' names Lyndsay and Jennifer. I thought the quality of the wines I tasted at the Wairarapa Wines Harvest Festival earlier this year made Lynfer a label worth watching. This release is of Pinot Noir-based wines, from clone 777, the vines now 8 y.o., made by the team at Gladstone Vineyard. The fruit has a floral quality, and I'm sure as the vines become older, the wines will become more substantial. www.lynferestate.co.nz
