Mahi 2012 Marlborough and Ward Farm Pinot Noirs

10-Apr-2014
The Mahi Wine label of Brian and Nicola Bicknell has quickly become one of the most dependably interesting in Marlborough, as the Bicknells pursue their philosophy of crafting wines with palate texture and subtlety rather than wines emphasising primary fruit. Their approach lends to the making of wines that are particularly good with food and are not tiring to drink. There is a clear distinction between the Marlborough expressions which represent the region with elegance, and the more individual single vineyard wines. Here, I review two 2012 Pinot Noirs which demonstrate the separation. www.mahiwine.co.nz
