Main Divide 2011 Merlot Cabernet 2012 Tehau Pinot Noir and 2013 Pokiri LP Pinot Gris

10-Jul-2014
As a brand in its own right, the Donaldson family of Pegasus Bay have developed different tiers within the Main Divide range with the ‘Reserve’ wines. This allows for the bottling of limited parcels of distinctive fruit to retain aspects of quality and style that deserve recognition. Here, I review the new release ‘regular’ 2011 Main Divide Merlot/Cabernet, along with the ‘Reserve’ 2012 ‘Tehau’ Pinot Noir and 2013 ‘Pokiri’ Late Picked Pinot Gris. ‘Tehau’ refers to grandfather Henry Tehau Tipinui Otu Donaldson and ‘Pokiri’ to the Donaldson’s great-great grandmother. www.maindivide.com
