Main Divide Chardonnay 2011 and Pinot Noir 2010

25-Apr-2013

The Main Divide brand is a success in its own right, but generally seen as a ‘second label’ of Pegasus Bay. Made essentially the same way as the Pegasus Bay wines, the fruit sources for the wines include that outside of the estate Waipara Valley vineyards. This initially, no doubt, presented challenges and a learning curve for the winemaking team led by Matt Donaldson, but over the years, strong relationships with contract growers have developed and the styles of Main Divide have been honed to provide wines that are equally satisfying as the sister ‘Pegasus Bay’ tier, and arguably more accessible. Here is my review of the new release Main Divide Chardonnay 2011 and Pinot Noir 2010. www.maindivide.com
