Misha’s Vineyard ‘Impromptu’ Pinot Noir 2009 Second Bottling

05-Dec-2013
Visiting Misha’s Vineyard in July this year, I saw at first-hand how bony the soils are at this special Bendigo Station site. The austerity of the soils, geology and aspect no doubt contribute to the pristine clarity and delicacy of the white wines, and the firm, structured core of the Pinot Noirs. All three tiers of Misha’s Vineyard Pinot Noirs, from the more accessibly priced ‘Impromptu’, to the premium ‘High Note’ and super-premium ‘Verismo’, benefit from time in the bottle to allow the tannins to resolve and harmonise with the wine, and for the more intricate secondary complexities to develop. Here, I review the ‘Impromptu’ Pinot Noir 2009 as a second bottling edition. It has the potential to continue to develop and show greater complexities. www.mishasvineyard.com
