Moncellier 2011 White Releases

29-Jun-2011
The Moncellier label is the renaissance project of Bill Spence, one of the modern pioneers of New Zealand winemaking. Bill with his brother Ross established and took their Matua Valley wine company to the forefront of the wine industry, eventually selling it to the Fosters' brewing conglomerate there becoming an integral part of the Beringer Blass wine division. Seeing the transition period through, Bill then created ‘Moncellier' (my cellar), with winemaker Greg Rowden, from Matua Valley, as a personal wine operation. Bill, as one of the great personalities of this country's wine scene, will no doubt make Moncellier a success, aiming to produce premium wines that are distinctively New Zealand and contemporary. www.moncellierwines.co.nz
