Mount Edward ‘Morrison Vineyard’ Riesling 2012

20-Dec-2012

The ‘Morrison' vineyard is Mount Edward's estate vineyard in the Lowburn sub-region of Central Otago. Situated overlooking Lake Dunstan on the western side, it is visible from S.H. 6, travelling from Cromwell to Wanaka. The vineyard is comprised of two main soil types, a silt/clay loam over schist-based alluvial gravels, and a fine loam over schist-based fluvial gravels. Measuring 6 ha, the majority is planted to Pinot Noir. Besides a little Pinot Blanc and newly planted Gruner Veltliner, there is 1 ha planted to Riesling, clones 239 and 110. This is the fruit for this single vineyard Riesling. www.mountedward.com
