Naked Vine Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

04-Aug-2014
The ‘Naked Vine’ wines come from the 70 ha Upper Wairau Valley ‘Patriarch’ vineyard of the ‘Naked Vine Wine Company created to produce "quality, flavoursome organic wine at a reasonable price”. The vineyard covers two terraces, with the upper 33 ha certified BioGro organic, and the lower 37 ha to be converted in due course. Well-known organic viticulturist Bart Arnst looks after the vineyard and the wines are made by John Jackson. The releases I’ve seen meet the criteria, and I can only see the wines improve as the vines mature. Here, I review the new release Pinot Gris 2014. www.wineofnewzealand.co.nz
