Nautilus Chardonnay 2010 – The New Generation

01-Jul-2011
The style of the Nautilus Chardonnay has been undergoing a subtle but definite change towards greater elegance ever since winemaker Clive Jones visited the Burgundy region in 2004, and especially after spending time at Comte Lafon, one of the most highly regarded of producers of white burgundy wine. According to Nautilus, the 2007 vintage marked the beginning of a new style with more restraint, and purity of fruit with the use of newly planted parcels of Dijon clone material and small-batch vinification. The 2010 vintage was an outstanding one for Clive, and the Chardonnay from that harvest is reckoned to be the best made to date. www.nautilusestate.com
