Neudorf ‘Tom’s Block’ Pinot Noir 2011

24-Jun-2013
Pinot Noir joined Chardonnay as an outstanding variety for Neudorf, and as the Neudorf Nelson Chardonnay can be considered a star in its own right alongside the flagship Moutere Chardonay, the ‘Tom’s Block’ Pinot Noir has started to join the ranks of the Moutere and ‘Home Vineyard’ Pinot Noirs. My reviews of the 2010 (click here to see) and 2009 (click here for this review) show how close the wine is to super-stat status. Tim and Judy Finn have experienced a fine run of vintages of late, and 2011 was a warm growing season producing big and healthy berries. Already, I’ve seen the Neudorf Moutere Pinot Noir 2011 (click here for my review), and now comes the ‘Tom’s Block’ from this very good year. www.neudorf.co.nz
