O:TU ‘Blend 202’ Sauvignon Blanc 2012

05-Aug-2013
With a consortium of new owners and a new winemaker, Jan Kux, who "combines Old World winemaking techniques with bold New World fruit”, the O:TU brand has made a successful comeback that shows the quality of the 200 ha of vineyards in the south-eastern Awatere Valley. The revitalised business released a pair of Sauvignon Blancs from the 2011 vintage in April last year, followed by another pair from the 2012 vintage in December. (Click here to see my reviews of these.) The two 2012s won gold medals at the 2013 International Wine Challenge in London. Now comes the final release from 2012, a top-of-the-range Sauvignon Blanc wine named ‘Blend 202'. www.otuwine.com
