Palliser Estate Pinot Noir 2013

19-May-2014
The Palliser Estate Pinot Noir is one of the most dependable in quality from Martinborough. It has a proven pedigree and a track record of being able to age. The wine’s second tier sibling, the Pencarrow is of the same ilk, having won numerous top awards over the years. As with all wines and winemakers, the Palliser Estate Pinot Noir and Allan Johnson are ever evolving. The quality of the 2013 vintage wine should be outstanding, based on a tasting of a selection of the region’s leading best examples in barrel sample form (click here to read my report), and I understand that Allan is intending to see more elegance into the Pinot Noir through his vinification, the 2013 vintage offering the opportunity of doing so, as discussed at a recent visit and tasting of Palliser barrels (click here to read). Here, I review the finished Palliser Estate Pinot Noir 2013, soon to be released. www.palliser.co.nz
