Pegasus Bay – Successful Varied Releases

07-May-2012

As with any well-established and highly respected wine producing business, Pegasus Bay does everything to a very high standard. A good measure is the way it handles fruit and makes diverse wines equally well. The Donaldson family are leaders in the Waipara Valley and indeed New Zealand with Pinot Noir and Riesling. Here are three wines demonstrating their prowess across the board. The Gewurztraminer is a relatively new varietal, this 2010 the second offering. Bordeaux varieties are not recognised as the most suitable reds for the district, yet Pegasus Bay has a long and successful track record with them. And dessert wines made from botrytis-infected grapes are notoriously difficult to work with, but the wines seem to be a specialty for the company. This breadth of ability is a reflection of Pegasus Bay's class. www.pegasusbay.com
