Pencarrow Martinborough Pinot Noir 2013

26-Nov-2014
Pencarrow is the very successful second label of Palliser Estate in Martinborough. The quality of the fruit that has gone into Pencarrow has never been better, partly from the continued improvements in viticulture and increasing vine age. The changes in the market and the world-wide trend of decreased demand on luxury goods following the GFC, has resulted in fruit normally destined for the flagship label ending up in the next tier down. Also the stylistic requirements of balance and approachability along with affordability have seen the Pencarrow wines grow to become a very significant part of the Palliser business. Here, I review the new release Pencarrow Pinot Noir from the highly regarded 2013 vintage. www.palliser.co.nz
