Ribbonwood – Marlborough Aromatic Wines

26-Sep-2012

The Ribbonwood brand is a secondary tier produced by Framingham Wines for selected channel distribution and export. In New Zealand the wine is available through the New Zealand Wine Society (www.nzwinesociety.co.nz), one of the largest direct mail retailers, and it is a relationship that has existed with the parent Framingham company from the earliest days. The Ribbonwood tree is the tallest native deciduous, and it was planted beside the winery in 1998. The Ribbonwood label is named after the tree and a Framingham vineyard north of Renwick which is planted east-west providing fruit in cooler spectrum. Such fruit can be a valuable component in the blending of aromatic wines. I've reviewed a number of Ribbonwood wines positively previously. Here are two new releases. www.ribbonwoodwines.co.nz
