Rochfort Rees Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

12-Mar-2013
Rochfort Rees is the wine business of Oliver Rochfort Scutts, the wine and company named after forebear William Gilbert Rees, a pioneer in the Lake Wakatipu district, Queenstown. Oliver is the son of Peter Scutts, well-known for his marketing involvement with Montana Wines, and no doubt his father has advised him on models of operating. Rochfort Rees owns no vineyards, but purchases fruit which is vinified under contract to his specifications and style preferences. Oliver personally sells the wine, and also uses on-line channels. The first wine released was a 2008 Awatere Sauvignon Blanc, and this has been followed by Central Otago Pinot Noir from the 2007 vintage. Oliver has enjoyed success at wine shows with his wine. Here I review the 2011 Central Otago Pinot Noir. www.rochfortrees.co.nz
