Sacred Hill and HALO say Hello

02-Dec-2010
Two pairs of new arrivals from Sacred Hill and the associated HALO range have been released at a similar time. The Sacred Hill brand is growing all the time and is a sign of the success of expansion. Winemaker Tony Bish is no doubt fully aware of the need to sell the wines too, and especially of the differentiation of the labels to enable this. Here the very familiar Sacred Hill ‘Orange Label' wines are priced at the RRP of $21.99. The HALO range is much newer, and the wines are priced at a RRP of $24.90. Interestingly, both of the 2010 Sauvignon Blancs reviewed below carry similar tech analysis details in % alc, TA and pH. One could not help but suspect that the wines could be identical? However, on tasting them, they were certainly different. The Syrahs, though both from the Gimblett Gravels, are from different vintages. I could not harbour the same suspicion! Both pairs of wines are very different. www.sacredhill.com
