Stone Bridge – Growing in Gisborne

31-Mar-2014
Stone Bridge is the winegrowing venture of David and Mairead Hart who own a 12 ha vineyard on Newstead Lane along the upper waters of the Taruheru river, 10 km from the centre of Gisborne. Following 15 years as a grapegrower, David planted Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer and Merlot in 2005, adding Viognier later that year, then Pinot Gris in 2006. An old, unused stone bridge is located in the corner of the vineyard. Viticulture is managed by the family, and the winemaking is by the experienced Brent Laidlaw. www.stonebridgewine.com
