Stonecrop Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

08-Apr-2014
The Stonecrop label is that of Andrew Harris and Sally Richardson who divide their time between New Zealand and New York. They began their winegrowing venture by planting Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir on their 8 ha vineyard on Dry River Road, south of the Martinborough township. Their first release was with the 2006 vintage wines. Tending the vineyard as much as possible themselves, they have their wines made by Alexis Moore at the Gladstone Vineyard facility. Most of the production is sold on the North American market, with a limited quantity seen domestically. Here, I review the 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, from a particularly favourable season. www.stonecropwines.com
